Setting: Using nature as a neutral spaceI am considering to use other spaces than the Chelsea Parade ground for filming. I want to use spaces that look less urban with more nature. I want to stay away from places they may add historical or cultural context to my work...what better way to do it than a park or nature? After further reflection, I have decided that it is not the best place for filming.
For one, I feel that the nature makes the space appear whimsical rather than neutralising. Here at the park, the nature contracts and distracts from the idea of uniformity. Secondly, for practical reason, it is already so difficult to get a mass amount of people to show up on the day. The Key is to create an environment that is convenient for the participants as possible. This means using the Chelsea Parade Ground and looking towards Chelsea students rather than other UAL students from other campuses.
